About the UTM Builder
UTM parameters are small snippets of text added to the end of a URL that tell Google Analytics exactly where your website traffic is coming from. Without UTM tracking, all your campaign traffic shows up as "direct" or gets lumped into broad channel buckets — making it impossible to know which campaigns are actually driving results.
How to use it
Enter your destination URL and fill in the Source, Medium, and Campaign Name fields (all required). Optionally add Term and Content for more granular tracking. The UTM URL updates in real time as you type. Copy it and use it anywhere you share a link — email newsletters, social media posts, paid ads, or banner advertisements.
UTM best practices
Always use lowercase letters to keep your analytics consistent. Use underscores instead of spaces. Be consistent with your naming conventions across your entire team so reports stay clean. For paid campaigns, always use utm_term to track keywords and utm_content to test different ad creatives against each other.
